Senior Project Engineer - Jackson, TN or One of Client's Major Project Locations


Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, this role offers the opportunity to directly impact the performance and innovation of one of this global packaging client's major divisions. As a key member of their engineering team, you’ll lead and support cutting-edge capital projects and process improvements across multiple manufacturing plants.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead Capital Projects: Develop and manage detailed project plans, cost estimates, timelines, and financial justifications. Prepare and present capital expenditure proposals.
  • Drive Manufacturing Innovation: Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and modernize production lines.
  • Own Technical Project Execution: Oversee the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and processes—including Factory and Plant Acceptance Testing (FAT & PAT).
  • Support High-Tech Equipment: Troubleshoot and optimize semi-automatic and fully automated systems, including electrical, mechanical, PLC, HMI, servo drives, and vision systems.
  • Leverage Automation and Robotics: Apply your expertise in robotics, AGVs, and smart automation to enhance productivity, reduce variability, and modernize operations.
  • Create Impact Across Teams: Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure successful implementation of complex technical solutions.


What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in high-speed, high-volume manufacturing with a focus on automation, robotics, and AGVs.
  • Proven skills in PLC/HMI programming, preferably with Rockwell Automation platforms.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for layout development and electrical schematics.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including budget tracking, vendor coordination, and stakeholder communication.
  • Hands-on knowledge of electromechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, AC/DC drives, and vision systems.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to travel as needed to depending on location of major projects (Jackson is currently a major project location)
